Beets-Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra is an inspired combination of established musicians and upcoming jazz talent. Composer and arranger Henk Meutgeert and pianist Peter Beets are at the helm, exploring a new theme through surprising interplay at every concert. Expect mesmerizing solos and, naturally, razor sharp swing. At Amersfoort World Jazz, George Gershwin’s famous compositions will take center stage, accompanied by a fine selection of soloists.
For this show, the Orchestra brings together Buma Boy Edgar Prize winner Ack van Rooyen on trumpet and flugelhorn, International Artist in Residence Sylwester Ostrowski on tenor saxophone and renowned singer and Edison Award winner Izaline Calister. Together with the 18-piece orchestra, they’ll take us on a journey through the famous American composer’s oeuvre.
