During their years at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, Will Maas and Tom Klein became friends as they studied together and started collaborating based on mutual respect and admiration. In the years that followed, the friends both went their separate ways; Maas as keyboardist with Marco Borsato and Beth Hart to name a few, and Klein with his own compositions and albums he recorded with singer Marlies Claassen and the Rob Mostert Hammond Group, among others.
Yet, their friendship lingered and there was always time to play together in between all these projects. On August 6 they will present the fruits of that labor; a combination of rich, melodious music, celebrating nearness, or lack thereof. A hunger for touch, for company, for sultry summer nights with a glass of wine and a soft breeze. Piu Vicino, as they named the album, is an experience we are already looking forward to.
