The quirky saxophonist Patrieck Bonnet grew up in a musical environment, surrounded by classical and romantic piano music. His grandfather and great inspiration, Karel van Dijck, was a clarinet player, arranger, composer and conductor. In Bonnet’s playing, a distinguished ear will recognize a distinct love for Stan Getz, Hank Mobley and Dexter Gordon, embracing the same warm, melodic tone in his improvisations.
While the young musician soon took the stage with Peter Beets & Henk Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra, Bigband on the Move and Dutch Concert Big Band it’s now time to spread his wings and present his own project. Hommage For Someone Who Has will see light on August 7 at De Observant, his very first solo album and definitely a release to look forward to.
