Lovers of Herbie Hancock, rejoice! Oh, and don’t miss a Robert Rook Trio concert. Pianist Rook blends jazz with contemporary and modern influences for an electric, eclectic and modern sound. While their upcoming release is undeniably rooted in earlier releases (the trio has been around since 1992), the guys opt for a new approach on August 7; their new album, aptly named A New Era, flirts with new sounds and grooves.
At De Observant, Robert Rook Trio seeks to connect to a new audience that might not directly look for acoustic jazz, but might just fall in love with it along the way.
Line-up:
Robert Rook – piano
Thomas Winter Andersen – bass
Bart van Helsdingen – drums
