Sebastiaan van Bavel is a pianist and composer who likes to blend Indian and Western classical music into his compositions. That might make them seem more like classical symphonies rather than jazz standards, but don’t be mistaken; improvisation and swing lay an undeniable foundation for his music. Rob van Bavel, in turn, has been praised as one of this country’s best jazz pianists and has toured all relevant (inter)national stages for decades. Like Sebastian, he is a pianist, composer and arranger, but with a strong jazz (bebop, modern, fusion) and classical music focus.

On August 8 at De Observant, the duo presents their new program and CD, Jazz meets Classical in Quatre-mains, where their love for technical approaches will undoubtedly take the limelight. A must for lovers of piano music!
